"A Different Kind of Garden" Free Opening Reception

Join us for a free reception to celebrate the opening of "A Different Kind of Garden" by Villa Artist in Residence Cat Gilbert.

See the Villa through a new lens via the imaginative and evocating works of Cat Gilbert. Using prints, paintings and sculpture developed during her residency at the Museum, Gilbert’s exhibition documents and exaggerates the colors, patterns and motifs found in the Villa’s architecture and expansive gardens.

Enjoy music, complimentary snacks and remarks by the artists and the Villa's assistant curator. A cash bar will be available. CAVT members receive their first drink free.

About the Artist:
Milwaukee artist Gilbert joined the Villa Terrace is an artist in residence in March. "A Different Garden" is her first solo exhibition. Gilbert is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores design motifs, color and patterns found in natural environments. Gilbert’s work has been shown around the globe in exhibitions including the UMAO Festival, Videoholica and the International Festival of Movement on Screen.
