Dyed Well
The Feminist Rug Hooking Practice of Emily Robertson
April 18, 2024 – October 13, 2024
"Dyed Well: The Feminist Rug Hooking Practice of Emily Robertson" is a survey exhibition highlighting the weaving and rug hooking practice of artist Emily ‘Emmy’ Robertson. Through a feminist lens, Robertson pushes the boundaries of storytelling and visual aesthetics by hooking hand-dyed wool into fantastical tapestries that depict historical moments in politics, natural landscapes, humor, and the artist’s complex and insightful personal narrative. "Dyed Well" celebrates her active career, current studio practice, and impact on contemporary weaving disciplines.
